As we roll into spring, we have some major news to share. We’re launching The Bruchim Podcast — the only podcast dedicated to Jews who think differently about circumcision.
In season one, we’ll host discussions with Jews who have been directly impacted by circumcision, touching on complications, regret, and opting out. We’ll also address the relationship between ethics and Jewish law. How does our Jewish tradition interact with our values about what’s right, and what do we do when there appears to be a conflict?
Expect celebrity guests and great Jewish thinkers. New episodes will drop each Friday, starting tomorrow. There are 10 beautifully-produced episodes in season one, and we can’t wait for you to hear them.
How You Can Listen
The trailer for The Bruchim Podcast drops today! It will take a little time for the podcast to propagate across all platforms (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.). You’ll also be able to listen on Bruchim’s website, where you’ll find transcripts and show notes. It could take up to several hours for the podcast to appear on our website, so stay tuned.
Sponsorships Available
We’re hoping you’ll support our new podcast by sponsoring a single episode or the entire season. Names of our sponsors will appear in the show notes. Most importantly, you’ll be helping us continue our work. We have lots more to bring you in a second season — and your sponsorship can help get us there! Learn more.
Circumcision & Egalitarianism
Egalitarian values animate much of American Judaism, focusing on the active inclusion of everyone in Jewish community. But are these values in conflict with circumcision as it’s currently practiced? To begin to answer this question, Bruchim’s Director of Education, Max DuBoff, will explore Jewish texts and scholarship about circumcision and other gendered, body-based practices. “Circumcision & Egalitarianism” will be presented online on Thursday, May 2nd at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
