Melinda is a freelance rabbi in Southeast Florida and was Ordained May 14, 2009 on the sand in Hollywood, Florida. She chose this date in honor of Mothers Day and Israel Independence Day. As a native Floridian, Melinda was born in Miami Beach, was raised Reform Jewish in Dade County, raised children Orthodox Jewish in Broward County and raises eyebrows with her open minded, unique Jewish style.
Melinda’s approach to Judaism is anchored with the consciousness of the heart, the passion of the soul and the delight of knowing the body. Through years of study and practice, Melinda transcends the ordinary and knows how to meet people where they are. Her covenant with God is rooted in compassion, understanding and love upon our neighbors of the earth.
In Melinda’s former profession, she was a bookkeeper and co-owner of a coin business. In Melinda’s former personal pursuits, she was certified as a life coach and a yoga teacher. Melinda is ordained as a Minister with the Universal Life Church, and has a Doctorate of Life Counseling with the International University of the Essene Community of Qumran. Combining these experiences and her energy is what people love about Melinda.
Last but certainly not least, as a proud mother of two and grandmother of three, Melinda knows that family and faith are at the forefront of every endeavor. In her spare time, you can find her embracing her love of the healing arts and vegan lifestyle, spending joyous time with family.
